About the Fools Ride

The Fools Ride is Appalachian ADV's flagship annual rally — held every April in the Ohio River Valley near Richmond, Ohio. Four days of ADV, Dual Sport, and Dual Sporting across the stunning northeast Ohio countryside.

Twisty pavement, gravel roads, forgotten dirt lanes, picturesque farmlands, small towns, and off-road trails to test your mettle. A family reunion vibe with home cooking from the Appalachian ADV Base Camp Crew — Kane's actual family.

Twisty Pavement Route

~50 mi

Scenic two-lane county roads through the Ohio River Valley. Great for warming up, street bikes, or newer riders. Rolling hills, small towns, zero stress.

Beginner ADV Loop

50–70 mi

Off-the-beaten-path gravel roads with optional challenge areas. ADV and Dual Sport friendly. A great first taste of dirt for new riders, or a relaxed day for veterans.

Intermediate ADV Loop

70–110 mi

Gravel forest roads, forgotten county roads, and "No Maintenance" dirt lanes. Optional expert challenge areas available. This is the crowd favorite.

Dual Sport Moderate

100+ mi

True ADV Dual Sporting — accessible to adventure bikes but with serious terrain. Plenty of challenges, big miles, and more technical sections.

Led by Buzzsaw of the Appalachian ADV Inner Circle. Dual Sport bikes ONLY — no mid or large-bore adventure bikes. Expect big bike deadlifting. You've been warned.
